Facility

The newest addition at Porton Down Science Campus, Porton Science Park (PSP) – and currently comprising The Beech-Allen Building (Building A) and The Lyle Building (Building B) – is a prestigious and exciting state-of-the-art Science and Technology facility located on over 10 hectares by the village of Porton near Salisbury in south Wiltshire.

Awarded UK Life Science Opportunity Zone status, PSP is situated alongside established R&D institutions including the Ministry of Defence’s Defence Science and Technology Laboratory (Dstl) and the UK Health Security Agency (UKHSA) which was previously Public Health England (PHE) Porton.

With its opening in January 2018, the facility provides opportunities for collaboration, the sharing and promotion of innovation, expertise and research in the Life Sciences and Defence Technology sectors for businesses based at the science park and partner organisations located at Porton Down as well as in wider Wiltshire and throughout the United Kingdom.

Both premises offer a variety of tenancy options for Health, Life Sciences and Defence Technology related start ups, established companies and organisations to situate at Porton Down and which suit size for highly specified office suites and fully-fitted laboratory spaces for short and long term lease thanks to PSP’s recognition of the pace of development in Technology and advances in new therapies in Health and Life Sciences.

PSP also provides a platform for sector related SMEs to innovate in an environment that welcomes and supports growth.

The science park is also a prime and secure location for office and laboratory tenancies and amenity extends to impressive meeting venues in dedicated Conference Centres together with sector related coworking options located in the Salisbury and wider south Wiltshire area.

A Hub For

Expertise

Fully operational and ready to welcome sector related SME businesses, PSP is geared to play a critical role in achieving Wiltshire Council and Swindon and Wiltshire Local Enterprise Partnership’s (SWLEP) vision for the Life Sciences and Defence Technology sectors in the county and it is spearheaded by a long-term strategy to become a world-class cluster for expertise and Life Sciences activity in the United Kingdom.

This strategy is also aligned with the growing Army presence and investment in Defence Science and Technology in south Wiltshire – and particularly with the return of Army personnel from Germany as part of the Army Basing Programme together with new  and continuing investment between Dstl and Qinetiq at Boscombe Down and all within in proximity of PSP.
